About us
The West London Air Quality Group is made up of the London Boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond upon Thames and has been in existence since 1996.
Air pollution does not respect borough boundaries and London Boroughs by their nature are small in area, therefore the effective options related to individual Borough activity are limited. All West London Councils have agreed to work in partnership with each other to seek joint solutions to air pollution problems. Each member borough has declared Air Quality Management Areas, and meet regularly to discuss common air quality issues, shared experiences and best practice in carrying out their duties locally under the Environmental Protection Act 1995.
In 2002 the West London Alliance Directors adopted the West London Air Quality Strategy and this has since evolved into the West London Revised Air Quality Strategic Plan 2006-2011.
